What my rage taught me and why I’m thankful for it.
I’ve been meaning to write this experience for a while and finally have a moment.
It feels appropriate when there is so much violence and conflict in the world. Its hard to understand how some humans can commit such acts of violence on others. Somehow in doing this they must be disconnected from their humanity.
It leads me to reflect on an experience of my own.
Many years back there was a time when I felt rage. Not even hot rage but cold rage. A rage from pain so great that I had to shut down the feelings and disconnect.
For me 2023 has been a year of both shining moments and moments of crisis. For all those who have been a part of my journey this is for you. Click to listen.
There are those who have sat with me and listened through my tears There are those who have cheered me on and encouraged me through my fears There are those who have been patient and supportive at these times And those who have prayed for me and my loved ones, really so kind
There are those who have reached out with practical solutions and help There are those who have engaged me for work that sustained me so I could help myself There are those who inspired me, who I have inspired, who honour me with their respect There are those whose goodwill and good wishes hold me in a positive matrix net
There are those who surround me with friendship, love and care Those who I laugh and have fun with, celebrate with, who are always there For all these people, for all this love in my life I give thanks from my heart, I’m truly blessed by Your Light

Today I set off by ferry and train from Gosport to Havant to see my lovely nephew. He met me at the train station and we went for a wander around Havant in the cold, though I was wrapped up in my heavy coat scarf and hat and my nephew had a few layers on with his usual shoulder bag strewn over his shoulder.
We went for a coffee and he bought us an amazing cake to share. Salted caramel chocolate cake. It was a divinely good choice, then we went for another walk about in the cold fresh air, stopped in St Faiths Church, said a prayer, sat by the Springs and then later meandered over to a bench to have a chat.
We both have trials in our lives. He shared his with me. A lived experience that is really so so hard. I felt him in my heart. He is incredibly strong to be able to bear it and still be here, coping somehow.
